Two weeks with Oscar -YAY!!

I have had the great joy of spending two full weeks with Oscar. The first few days were not so joyous because he had Hand Foot and Mouth, which he caught from one of his daycare friends.  After the fever broke and the blisters began to heal, I stopped crying about it, especially since he didn't seem phased.

I watched Oscar do many new things and reach a couple of milestones during our time together. Oscar loves to watch animals and is especially interested in cats and birds.  My mom has an extremely unusual cat that loves attention from little babies.  Oscar loved playing with kitty and emphasized his enjoyment by voicing his first word, "kitty."

Oscar has also taken to mimicking others and truly gets a kick out of doing this with his dad.  He got a few presents for Christmas that he loves, but I think he would have been most happy with a cardboard tube.

Oscar has become extremely mommy focused in the past few weeks.  While this is endearing, it is also exhausting.  He loves to play, but more and more he needs to play and also have direct contact with me.  Which has turned my body in to a climbing gym and and my face in to a toy.  Here he is climbing up on me.

I am a little sad to be returning to work and leaving Oscar at daycare. I am sure we will both adjust.  Thank goodness it is a short week.
