Car Camping

It's been a long time since we have been camping.  In fact, after thinking about it, the last time we went camping was a backpacking trip with Edit and Amy to Grand Valley when Jessica was 3 months pregnant with Oscar.  So it's not too strange that we went on Oscar's first camping trip with Edit and Amy to Lake Wenatchee.  

Oscar, of course, loved the trip.  He had so much fun.  It is really amazing how much he loves the outdoors and how easy it is for him to be there.  

We ended up getting a great campsite right on the water and  it was beautiful! 

On Saturday we hiked on the Eightmile Lake trail.  Our goal was to make it to the Lake but alas Oscar's lunch and nap time prevented us from making it all the way. Still we hiked a good five miles and it loved every minute of it.  One thing about hiking with a child is that it really teaches you to enjoy the journey and not always worry about getting to a destination.

It was great that Oscar got to spend time with his "aunts" as he really got them wrapped around his little finger.

And Oscar got a little dirty during the trip...

With one car camping trip under our belts I think we are excited to do some more. I think Oscar is ready too!
