Mommy vacations closer to the equator

One of my criteria for living in the sun deprived Northwest is to take a sunny vacation in the late winter.  This year, I was fortunate enough to have taken two vacations, leaving both Evan and Oscar behind.  When I first starting planning these trips, I only thought of how hard it would be to leave Oscar, that was back in December.  Since then, I have learned that taking care of myself is something that I want to model for Oscar.  So when I was on my trips to Austin with 414 girlfriends (Milwaukee college and post-college) and then with my Seattle girls in Mexico, I was truly present.  It was a wonderful gift to give myself and hope that I can remember how important time for self and with friends is to recharge and recenter myself.  Below is a snapshot of the experiences.

And some precious photos of Oscar while I was away, that landed in my inbox from Evan, possibly the best father and husband that I could have partnered with on this adventure. Good thing his Grandma and Grandpa were there to share the time.
